2003 Hattenheimer Wisselbrunnen, Spätlese, lieblich
17.5 point = outstanding, full of character
"a honey cake with rasins and all sorts of fruit and then really crisp
with minerals - simply brilliant and top quality (and at least equally good
as the also outstanding "BLUE CAP" of Mannberg - or even better?)"
WEINWIRTSCHAFT, Meininger Verlag, Ausgabe 09/2004
2003 Rauenthaler Baiken, Kabinett, trocken
15.0 points = above average to very good
"fresh aroma of yellow fruit, apple, citrus..., juicy, sinewy, tangy
and second to the dry Spätlese from the same location - which is twice
as expensive - only in richness and mellowness, if at all; ...mastered the
vintage decidedly well.

"The current collection continues the positive development of the previous
years. Particularly the Rieslings of the region Hattenheimer Brunnen present
themselves as clean and fruity and have a stable acidity that plays with the
aromas with lots of finesse. Again a highlight: the noble-sweet collection."

In the regional class Rheingau, the Winery Langwerth von Simmern took an excellent
First Place for the presented Riesling collection.
PRO RIESLING, Trier; 2001
"The best dry Rieslings of recent years can be found in the Langwerth
von Simmern 2001 vintage. The "Erste Gewächs" (First Growth)
from the Mannberg site as well as the dry Spätlese from the Rauenthaler
Baiken are among the best in the Rheingau. The same is true for the Eiswein.
Convincing collection, continuing on their way to the top!"

2001 Hattenheimer Wisselbrunnen Riesling Kabinett
trocken
"This is so pineappleasing, hissed the Rachendrachen!" And we couldn't
agree more with this verdict [by the cartoon dragon advertising fruit-flavoured
throat drops in Germany]. A wine with playful exotic fruit, flavours of pineapple
drops and lime combined with pleasant and smooth acidity. With this wine,
the Rachendrachen enjoys Asian vegetables or orders a Hawaiian pizza.
